Zoho One
The Operating System for Business
About
Zoho One is a unified cloud business suite that bundles 45+ integrated applications covering CRM, accounting, inventory, HR, project management, helpdesk, marketing, and more — all for one price. It positions itself as "the operating system for business."
Unlike traditional ERPs, Zoho One takes an app-based approach: each function is a separate but tightly integrated application. This gives businesses the flexibility to use only what they need while maintaining data flow across apps. Zoho is privately held and famously bootstrapped — no venture capital, which the company says keeps it focused on customers, not investors.
History
Zoho Corporation was founded in 1996 by Sridhar Vembu and Tony Thomas in Chennai, India (originally as AdventNet, focused on network management). The company pivoted to business applications in the mid-2000s, launching Zoho CRM in 2005 and Zoho Books in 2011.
Zoho One was launched in 2017 as a bundled offering of 35+ apps at an aggressive price point — disrupting the SMB software market. By 2024, Zoho had 100+ million users across all products, 45+ apps in Zoho One, and 15,000+ employees. The company remains privately held with zero external funding — a rarity at its scale.
