Odoo
The #1 Open Source ERP
About
Odoo is the world's most popular open-source business application suite, covering every business need — from CRM and Sales to Manufacturing, Inventory, Accounting, HR, and 80+ fully integrated apps. The platform follows a modular architecture: start with one app and add more as your business grows.
Odoo's unique combination of open-source flexibility, modern UI, and comprehensive functionality makes it the go-to choice for businesses that want enterprise-grade ERP without enterprise-grade costs. The Community edition is completely free, while the Enterprise edition adds advanced features, hosting, and support.
History
Odoo was created by Fabien Pinckaers in 2005 as "TinyERP" while he was a student at UCLouvain in Belgium. The project was renamed to "OpenERP" in 2010 to better reflect its growing scope beyond just ERP.
In 2014, following a $10 million funding round, the company rebranded to "Odoo" and expanded its vision beyond ERP to a full business application suite. Odoo grew rapidly — from 2 million users in 2017 to 12 million by 2024. The company achieved unicorn status with a $3.5 billion valuation. Odoo 18, released in 2024, introduced significant AI capabilities and performance improvements.
